The first European team we had the honor to work with this year was Apoel Nicosia FC, the Cypriot champion of 2012-2013. They drew Zulte-Waregem, who moved to the Europa League qualifiers after losing to PSV Eindhoven. The Europa League draws took place on 9 August and it turned out that Apoel FC would first come to Belgium to play the home match in Belgium. Due to UEFA restrictions, Zulte-Waregem was not allowed to play in their own stadium so they made a deal with Brussels-based team RSC Anderlecht.
We had to act fast so in a bit more than a weeks time we took care of all the arrangements for the Cypriot team. In total we welcomed 110 visitors at Brussels Airport on Tuesday 20 August of which 44 fans and 66 members of Apoel Nicosia (team, members of the board, VIP's, ...). We arranged for both accommodation as transfers for this party during their stay in Brussels. Even some last minute troubleshooting was necessary: The team was unable to play their training on the RSC Anderlecht training grounds so a solution had to be found. We managed to host the morning training before the match at the grounds of RWD Molenbeek, a Brussels-based team that plays in the second division who we managed to convince to be so kind to accommodate the Cypriot visitors.
After the match, we made sure the team were catered with a special demand which were 40 pizza's and sodas to gain some strength after a tiring match. When everyone finished their dinner, we returned to Brussels Airport to say goodbye to our visitors.
